The people behind the idea

Kristina Vodenicharova

Co-founder, Operations Lead

Kristina founded BuddyGuard in 2020 after struggling to find reliable care for her dog while traveling. Frustrated with the lack of flexible and trustworthy pet care options in Bulgaria, she created BuddyGuard — the first professional pet sitting company in Sofia — built with love by a pet parent, for pet parents. Kristina holds a degree in Media Production and Advertising, giving her a strong foundation in communication that she now channels into building a trusted pet care brand.

Kostadin Mihaylov

Co-founder, Business Development Officer

Kostadin joined BuddyGuard after responding to Kristina’s ad for a part-time sitter. A four-hour interview turned into a partnership, as his deep knowledge of animals and entrepreneurial spirit aligned perfectly with Kristina’s vision. Kostadin brings over 7 years of experience in team management and business development, having held key roles at Google and Crypto.com — expertise he now applies to growing BuddyGuard into a leading pet care platform.
